Ingredients
- Terminalia arjuna (Arjuna): Clinical and pharmacological research highlights antioxidant, cardioprotective, and lipid-lowering properties. Human studies report improvements in blood pressure, cholesterol, and inflammatory markers in coronary artery disease patients (Das 2020; Ramesh 2023; Rajaram 2024).
- Commiphora mukul (Guggul): Contains guggulsterones, which act on bile metabolism and lipid regulation. Research supports its antihyperlipidemic and anti-inflammatory activity, with Ayurvedic practice distinguishing between “new” and “old” guggul preparations (Barbagallo 2015; Yang 2024; Vyas 2015).
- Allium sativum (Garlic): Rich in bioactive organosulfur compounds such as allicin, garlic demonstrates antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antihypertensive, and lipid-lowering effects. Systematic reviews confirm reductions in cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood pressure in both animal and human studies (Shang 2019; Imaizumi 2023).
- Plantago ovata (Isabgol/Psyllium): Fiber-rich husk shown to reduce serum cholesterol by binding bile acids, lowering intestinal cholesterol absorption, and reducing hepatic cholesterol synthesis. Psyllium is recognized as a supportive agent in hyperlipidemia therapy (Turgut 2021).
